Expand Well Water Testing

Nationally, over 44 million people rely on well water for drinking, cooking, and bathing. In our home state of Maine, over 50% of people rely on well water—many without the knowledge or resources to test their wells for contaminants like arsenic.

Furthermore, the state has lagged behind on testing public water supplies for known emerging contaminants, like PFAS.

We must expand testing of wells and public water supplies—for arsenic, PFAS, and other emerging contaminants.

To expand well water testing and build grassroots power, our organizing team travels across the state to distribute testing kits, educate community members, and train grassroots leaders to push for safe drinking water for their communities.

Standing alongside the grassroots and legislative leaders, we are also pushing for new legislation to expand well water testing across Maine.
